H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States attended the Opening Ceremony of the First Turkic World Cultural Forum on 13 October 2023 in Shusha, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World.
The Forum was inaugurated by H.E. Adil Kerimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, H.E. Sultanbai Raev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY and H.E. Shahin Mustafaev, the President of Turkic Academy addressed the guests at the inaugural session.
In his speech, Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev stressed that the organization of this Forum and the meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY in Shusha in the "Year of the Rise of Turkic Civilization" is a significant occasion for the entire Turkic world.
He also underlined that culture brings people together, strengthens fraternal ties, educates the younger generation, and enables to preserve the identity of peoples and nations that is traditionally transmitted from generation to generation.
The Program of the Forum consisted of the presentation of the website “www.shusha2023.org”, Shusha Encyclopedia, Turkic World Cultural Route and discussions on the Turkic languages and literature.
During the two-day event, more than 200 participants, government officials, academicians, writers, experts, public figures and artists from the Turkic States took part.
