The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E.Elmar Mammadyarov on 6 May, 2019 in Baku.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on recent global and regional developments and discussed the ongoing cooperation between Turkic Council Member States.
Minister and Secretary General also discussed the preparation for the upcoming Turkic Council Summit to be hosted by Azerbaijan in line with the views expressed by H.E Ilham Aliyev during the meeting of Secretary General with the President on 16th April 2019 in Baku.
Secretary General B.Amreyev informed Minister Mammadyarov about recent activities of the Turkic Council, particularly in the field of economy and efforts undertaken by the Turkic Council to establish mechanisms for enhancing economic cooperation among the Member States such as the establishment of “Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry” and “Joint Investment Fund”. They also agreed to organize the annual Turkic Business Forum in prior to the next 7th Summit of Turkic Council in Baku .
Minister Mammadyarov expressed his support to the efforts undertaken by the Secretariat of the Turkic Council for strengthening its cooperation with the international organizations, as well as boosting the relations with non-member countries.
Deputy Secretary General Gismat Gozalov and Project Director Farrukh Jumayev accompanied the Secretary General Amreyev at the meeting.
