Turkic Council delegation headed by Deputy Secretary General Ömer Kocaman held several meetings with relevant authorities of Uzbekistan in charge of economy, transport, tourism and youth affairs on the margins of the 4th International Congress entitled "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan as the Foundation of a New Renaissance" which took place in Tashkent on December 15-18, 2020.
During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Jasurbek Choriev, Parties discussed the issues related to creating favorable conditions and simplifying administrative procedures in the field of transport and transit, utilizing the potential of the Middle Corridor, as well as they agreed to take necessary steps to raise the efficiency of ongoing Sister Ports process by involving Uzbek dry ports such as Navoi and Termez in this process.
At the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for the Development of Tourism of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Azamov, Parties exchanged views on including famous tourist destinations of Uzbekistan in the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Project, holding the sixth meeting of Ministers in Charge of Tourism of the Turkic Council in Uzbekistan in 2021 as well as the implementation of the initiatives of Uzbek side on organizing joint tours to “holy places”, and establishment of a joint Tourism TV Channel.
In the discussions with Deputy Director of Youth Affairs Agency of Uzbekistan Farrukh Omonov, delegations touched upon the cooperation on implementation of youth start-up projects, signing the Youth Exchange MoU among the Member and Observer States of the Council, and issues concerning convening the fifth meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Youth and Sports and Young Entrepreneurs Forum to be held in Uzbekistan in September 2021.
Turkic Council delegation also held a meeting with Chairman of Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan Muhtor Umarov, where cooperation possibilities on establishing the Turkic Council Trade Houses, organizing presentations, field trips and capacity building training as well as providing assistance in advancing the legal basis for entrepreneurship were discussed.
Deputy Secretary General Ömer Kocaman gave an interview for "the international business journal "Bright Uzbekistan" where he briefed on the current activities and ongoing projects of the Turkic Council. and shared his opinion on further enhancing the large-scale cooperation among the Member and Observer States of the organization in priority areas.
