Deputy Secretary General of Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly participated in the commemoration program of Cengiz Aytmatov on the occasion of the 88th anniversary of his birth organized by the Consulate General of Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul and Kültür A.Ş of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipalityon on14 December 2016.
Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly, who delivered a speech during the commemoration program, informed the participants about the activities that are being conducted by the Turkic Council and the International Turkic Academy in the areas of culture, education and history aiming to transfer great personalities to the future generations. In his speech Mr. Saparbekuly also refered to the personality and literary personality of the famous Kyrgyz writer, journalist, translator, diplomat and politician Cengiz Aytmatov. He stated that Aytmatov who introduced the richness of Central Asia and Turkic culture to the whole World, has a high value for the Kyrgyz people and the Turkic World, as well as an unquestionable place in the world literature. He also emphasized the importance of transferring important figures like Cengiz Aytmatov, who have shed light on humanity with their ideas, to future generations and developing activities in this direction.
