On the eve of the 6th Meeting of Ministers of Transport of the Organization of Turkic States, the Fifth Meeting of the Sister Ports was convened on 27 October 2022 in Tashkent with the participation of heads and representatives of the Ports of Baku (Azerbaijan), Aktau and Kuryk (Kazakhstan) and Mersin (Türkiye), and Logistic Centers “Universal Logistics Services”, “Akhtachi” and “Termiz Cargo” (Uzbekistan), as well as CJSC "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company" (ASCO, Azerbaijan).
At the meeting, moderated by Deputy Secretary General Mirvokhid Azimov, representatives of the sea and dry ports exchanged views on the ways to enhance cooperation among the Sister Ports and agreed to take joint measures for developing the online information sharing platform aimed at further integrating their digital systems and exchanging best practices, jointly launching scheduled block trains along the Corridor and implementing joint digital applications.
Parties agreed to organize a field trip to the Mersin Port, the largest container port of Türkiye, and to explore the possibilities of realizing joint projects with the participation of PSA International, one of the largest port operators in the world.
Following the meeting, the delegations paid a field visit to the Logistic Center “Universal Logistics Services”, where they got acquainted with its capacities and infrastructure development.
