Following the independence gained for the second time in the 20 century, the National Leader and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Heydar Aliyev issued a Decree No. 707, proclaiming 26 June the “Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan” in 1998. Since then, it is celebrated every year by the Azerbaijani People. The Azerbaijani Army formed a secure guarantee of independence of the Republic and its people, who made a choice to establish a democratic government.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Secretariat of the Turkic Council and on my own, I would like to congratulate the Republic of Azerbaijan and wish prosperity and happiness.
