Within the framework of the 2nd Meeting of the International Network for the UNESCO Silk Road Online Platform held in Valencia, a diplomatic session `Silk and Peace: Diplomatic Way` was held on 10 June 2016.
During the session, along with presentation of the Turkic Council, Mr. Serkhan Musayev, Representative of Sheki Governorship from Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a presentation about the region as a member of Turkic Council delegation.
In his presentation, Mr. Musayev gave information to the Ambassadors of the UNESCO Silk Road and to the participants of the session, about city of Sheki and its importance on the Silk Road, which has been declared as the Capital of the Turkic Cultural World by TURKSOY for 2016, as well as its tourism potential for the region.
Besides being the Capital of Turkic Cultural World, City of Sheki is known as one of the most important cities located on the ancient Silk Road. Through its present cultural heritage and its huge potential, City of Sheki has been emphasized at the said conference.
