On October 4, 2023, the Multilateral Political Consultations within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was convened at the premises of the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul upon the initiative of Turkiye.
The consultations were moderated by H.E.Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, and attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers of Member States along with representatives of the OTS Observers.
During the consultations, the parties addressed issues related to the organization of the 10th Summit of the OTS to be hosted by Kazakhstan, emphasizing the importance of the documents to be signed during the Summit for strengthening relations and advancing shared objectives in the Turkic World. Secretary General Omuraliev provided comprehensive information to the Deputy Foreign Ministers regarding the drafts of Agenda and Declaration of the upcoming Summit.
Furthermore, the participants deliberated on the current status of cooperation within the OTS, parties examined the state of cooperation within the OTS, focusing on economic benefits, connectivity projects, and other vital areas. Proposals and perspectives on strengthening the OTS were also discussed emphasizing the need for enhanced collaboration across political, economic and humanitarian domains among the Member States.
Discussions also revolved around global and regional dynamics affecting the Turkic World and the OTS. Deputy Foreign Ministers explored challenges, as well as potential opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives to promote stability, prosperity, as well as peace within the region and beyond. Ambassador Omuraliev emphasized the necessity of consolidating efforts of the Member States within the OTS.
This Multilateral Political Consultations served as a constructive platform for dialogue and strategic planning of the OTS activities. It aligns with its’ unwavering commitment to fostering deeper cooperation among Turkic States in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
