At the invitation of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Mr. Merey Mukazhan addressed the 28th meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers on 3 December 2024 in Mashhad, Iran.

In the light of the OTS Secretariat's first participation since the ECO's becoming observer at the OTS, within his statement the Deputy Secretary General briefed the Foreign Ministers on the outcomes of the Kazakh Chairmanship at the OTS, the 11th OTS Summit in Bishkek and ongoing activities as well as priorities of the Kyrgyz Chairmanship. He also expressed his hope that the interorganizational cooperation would develop next year, during Kazakhstan's Chairmanship at the ECO.
