On 1 December 2025, Mr. Merey Mukazhan, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) had a meeting with Dr. Sevil Huseynova, Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) European Centre for Preparedness for Humanitarian and Health Emergencies (PHHE) at the Secretariat of the OTS in Istanbul.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged updates on their respective activities and discussed priority areas for closer cooperation. The conversation centred on integrating the strategic objectives of the OTS with the WHO’s technical guidance in the field of health emergency preparedness.

The meeting established a foundation for prospective joint actions, which may involve collaborative capacity-building programs, the exchange of expertise, and coordinated responses during disasters among Member States of the OTS.
