The Govneror (Bashkan) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (ATU) of Gagauzia, Mrs. Irina Vlah paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev on 13 March 2023 at the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul.
Secretary General Omuraliev welcomed the Governor Irina Vlah to OTS headuarters and briefed on the latest activities of the Organization and preparations to the upcoming Extraordinary Summit of the OTS.
Irina Vlah congratulated Ambassador Omuraliyev for his appointment to the post of the OTS Secretary General and wished him success during his term in the office. Noting the tecnhical assistance projects implemented by the Turkic States in Gagauzia, Govneror Irina Vlah expressed her gratitude for attention, constant support and active contribution of OTS Member and Observer States to the socio-economic development of the country. She also emphasized the potential for cooperation between Gagauzia and OTS in a number of areas, in particular in the field of culture and education.
Secretary General reiterated the readiness of the OTS for further fruitfull collaboration in education, culture, torusim and development areas, as well as work on the realization of joint activities in abovementioned areas and issues of common interest.
