In the framework of his official contacts in Baku, Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov met with Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 3,, 2015.
Secretary General Hasanov conveyed detailed information to Mr. Mammadyarov on the preparations of the 5th Summit to be held on 11 September 2015 in Astana, the official documents due to be signed during the Summit, activities of the Turkic Council in the fields of transport, customs, tourism cooperation as well as ongoing works towards the establishment of Joint TV Channel. Ambassador Hasanov also gave information about the developments regarding the related organizations of the Turkic Council namely Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and International Turkic Academy. He also informed Mr. Mammadyarov on the current relations of the Turkic Council with the international organizations such as WTO, UNWCO and OSCE.
During the Meeting, Mr. Mammadyarov indicated the importance given to the activities of the Turkic Council by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and appreciation of the effective work of the Secretariat. Mr. Mammadyarov also stated that they support the proposal of the Kyrgyz Republic on establishment of the International Turkic Sports and Nomadic Civilization Center and the importance of finalization of establishment of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and International Turkic Academy. Mr. Mammadyarov underlined that they will continue to give every support to the activities of the Turkic Council and wished success to the Secretary General.
