The International Observation Mission of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) monitored the Republican Referendum of the Republic of Kazakhstan held on 5 June 2022.
The Mission was headed by Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Gismat Gozalov and composed of the representatives of the OTS Secretariat and the Secretary General of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).
In the framework of pre-election contacts, the Mission met respectively with the Secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Mukhtar Yerman, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Adil Tursunov.
The delegation received detailed information on the administrative preparations and measures taken in the framework of the referendum process, campaigning activities, roles of international observer missions (international organizations and countries), as well as the organizational strategy of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the smooth flow of the Referendum.
The Mission has observed the voting procedures in 15 polling stations in the city of Nur-Sultan and presented the assessment of the Mission on the Constitutional Referendum with national and international media outlets at a press conference organized on 6 June 2022.
