Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Abdulaziz Kamilov on 4 October 2019 in Tashkent.
Foreign Minister Kamilov welcomed the Secretary General and emphasized the historical importance of Uzbekistan’s accession to the Turkic Council and expressed his confidence that this would open new opportunities for Uzbekistan, as well as its new partners in the Turkic Council. A. Kamilov expressed gratitude to B. Amreyev for his valuable efforts in the process of accession of Uzbekistan to Turkic Council.
A. Kamilov touched upon the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan and shared the vision of Uzbekistan on multilateral cooperation among the member states of the Turkic Council, expressing the readiness of Uzbekistan to join all other Turkic Cooperation Organizations.
B. Amreyev noted the accession of Uzbekistan to the Turkic Council as a historic opportunity and expressed his confidence that the participation of Uzbekistan in the work of the Council will significantly increase the effectiveness of its activities. B. Amreyev also briefed A. Kamilov on the preparations for the upcoming 7th Summit in Baku.
Parties exchanges views on the future cooperation between Uzbekistan and fraternal Turkic-speaking countries within the framework of the Turkic Council, especially in the areas of economy, trade, tourism, science, culture, communication, emphasizing the special importance of youth policy.
