Deputy Secretary General of the OTS attended the panel entitled “Preserving Cultural Heritage in a Digital Age”
On the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on 12 March 2022 a panel entitled “Preserving Cultural Heritage in a Digital Age” took place.
The panel was moderated by Ms. Elif Bereketli, Journalist for TRT World, Ms. Jenelly Matundu Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia, Mr. Simeon Sakskoburggotski, Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Mr. Ömer Kocaman, Ms. Gunay Efendiyeva, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and Mr. Johny Messo, President of the World Council of Arameans.
Attendees expressed their views on using the technology in preserving the cultural heritage in different forms and merging the traditional methods with the innovative ones.
In his speech, Deputy Secretary General Kocaman touched upon the effects of the digitalism and developments in the technology regarding the expectations and habits of the youth, its repercussions on the cultural heritage phenomenon and importance of conveying the cultural heritage to the new generations by using the advantages of the digital tools.
