Former President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Abdullah Gül, visited the OTS Secretariat
The 11th President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Abdullah Gül, paid a visit to the premises of the Organization of Turkic States in Istanbul on 30 September 2024.
As a President who signed the Nakhchivan Agreement establishing the Organization of Turkic States (then called the Turkic Council) from the Turkish side, H.E. Gül expressed his pleasure to be at the Secretariat of the OTS at a time when the Organization is doing preparations for the celebrations of its 15th anniversary.  
Former President Abdullah Gül underscored the remarkable development of the Organization in various dimensions in the course of last 15 years, noting that the OTS has come a long way and became the umbrella institution of the Turkic world coordinating the multilateral cooperation among the Turkic States ranging from political, economic fields to social and cultural areas in an efficient way. Stating that there have been great developments in every field in the Turkic world in the last years, President Gül made a special reference to Uzbekistan's full membership in the Organization, the solidarity of all member states shown in the Karabakh victory, and the adoption of the Turkic World Vision-2040 document, which opened new horizons for the strengthening of the Turkic cooperation under the OTS. Former President Gül also stressed that the Turkic States as respected members of the international community are growing stronger as independent countries by strengthening their political systems, economies, and defense capabilities.
OTS Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev provided in-depth information about the current agenda and activities of the Organization as well as its future vision. Secretary General underscored the importance of economic, trade, transport and customs initiatives developed under the OTS.
