“Kurultai of the Hunno-Turkic peoples” was held in Hungary

The “7th Kurultai of the Hunno-Turkic peoples” was held on August 12-14, 2022, in Bugac, Budapest.

This traditional assembly of the Hunno-Turkic peoples was organised by the Hungarian Tourist Association and headed by Mr. Bíró András Zsolt, President of the Hungarian Turan Foundation.

The Kurultai attended by H.E. László Kövér, Speaker of the Parliament of Hungary, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders, Mr. Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan, President of the World Ethnosport Federation, H.E. Azamat Zhamankulov, Minister of Culture, Sports and Information of Kyrgyzystan, H.E. Sultanbai Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY, H.E. Mr. Mehmet Süreyya Er, Secretary General of TURKPA, H.E. Darkhan Kydyrali, President of the Turkic Academy and H.E. Avazjon Karimov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Kurultai program included: a fire show, exhibition of Attila's Yurt, demonstration of about 1 thousand warriors, army parade of cavalry troops using thoroughbred horses of about 500, including Akhal-Teke horses, demonstration performances of Kyrgyz archers, presentation of falconry, demonstration of steppe equestrian combat, kurash wrestling competitions, musical performances by masters of arts of the Turkic countries and etc.

Addressing the Kurultai, Secretary General expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and the Parliament of Hungary in promoting the great heritage of the Turkic peoples by holding the Kurultai in which was attended by more than 27 tribes of Turkic peoples and almost 200 thousand people.

Baghdad Amreyev, emphasizing the need to continue organizing such events, invited the participants of the Kurultay to take an active part in the upcoming 4th World Nomad Games, scheduled at the end of September 2022 in Iznik, Turkey.

During the event, were also organized meetings in a trilateral format, including the Organization of Turkic States with the Hungarian Tourist Association and H.E. Azamat Zhamankulov, Minister of Culture, Sports and Information of Kyrgyzstan and with Mr. Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan, President of the World Ethnosport Federation.
