Message of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov on the occasion of 26 June – Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan:
I would like to convey my heartfelt congratulations on occasion of 26 June – Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
After gaining the independence for the second time in the 20 century the National Leader and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Heydar Aliyev on May 22, 1998 issued a Decree No. 707 proclaiming 26 June the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Army became a secure guarantee of independence of the Republic and its people, who made a choice to establish a democratic government. Since 1998, it is celebrated by the Azerbaijani People every year.
On this occasion on behalf of the Secretariat of the Turkic Council and myself, I would like to congratulate the Republic of Azerbaijan with this important holiday and wish prosperity and happiness.
