The Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Mr. Merey Mukazhan, held a productive meeting with representatives of the Izmir Commodity Exchange (ICE) to explore avenues for enhancing economic collaboration between two institutions. The meeting, which took place at the OTS Secretariat, underscored the shared commitment to fostering trade, investment, and agricultural cooperation within the Turkic region.
During the discussions, Mr. Mukazhan highlighted the strategic importance of the agricultural and commodities sectors in the economies of OTS member states. He emphasized the role of exchanges like ICE in facilitating trade, ensuring market transparency, and promoting sustainable economic growth. The Deputy Secretary General also noted the potential for increased cooperation in areas such as agricultural innovation, digitalization of trade platforms, and the exchange of best practices.
Dr. Dilek Akdenizli, Deputy Secretary General of the Izmir Commodity Exchange, informed that ICE is one of Turkey's oldest and most prominent commodity exchanges, presented its ongoing initiatives to modernize trading systems and support the agricultural sector. ICE representatives expressed their readiness to collaborate with OTS member states to share expertise and develop joint projects aimed at boosting trade volumes and diversifying export markets.
Both parties agreed on the importance of leveraging the Organization of Turkic States as a platform to strengthen economic ties and facilitate dialogue between public and private sector stakeholders. They also discussed the possibility of organizing joint events, such as trade fairs, business forums, and training programs, to further enhance cooperation in agricultural field.
