Muslim Religious Administrations of Turkic States Jointly Decided on the Day of the Beginning of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr Date

The Fatwa Committee of the Muslim Religious Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has set an important example of cooperation in the Islamic world by jointly determining the dates of the beginning of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr for the year 2025 Gregorian/1446 Hijri. The committee decided that the first day of Ramadan in 2025 will be celebrated on Saturday, 1 March and Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, 30 March.

This historic decision has become an important symbol of the joint efforts of the OTS member countries and their unity and cooperation in determining religious days. In the process of the decision, the Fatwa Committee conducted a rigorous assessment based on scientific data on the criteria for the sighting of the moon and showed that the timing of the religious days is in line with precise astronomical calculations.

This joint decision on the first day of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr once again demonstrates the commitment of the Turkic States to strengthening unity among Muslim communities and keeping traditional religious practices in line with modern scientific findings.
