Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States has embarked on a visit to Hungary at the invitation of the Hungarian-Turan Foundation as the guest of honor within the framework of the “9th Great Hun-Turk Kurultáj” celebrations, to be held on 10-11 August 2024, in Bugac, Hungary.
As part of the traditional practice of Kurultáj” celebrations, the attendees first gathered at the Hungarian National Assembly on 9 August 2024.
Speeches included by H.E. Sándor Lezsák, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, heads of the Turkic Organizations, parliamentarians and high officials from Turkic countries.
In his speech, Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized the significance of The Great Hun-Turk Kurultay as a significant fora of the common Turkic-Hungarian ancestry, culture, and values. It was reiterated that the gathering is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Turkic peoples.
Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev underscored the invaluable role of Hungary as an Observer for giving an impetus in the work of the Organization of Turkic States with the institutions located in the heart of Europe. It was underlined that the OTS is striving diligently to enhance cooperation in various fields to ensure that the Turkic States thrive together, leveraging collective strengths to overcome common challenges.
The event also featured a welcome reception and was attended by the representatives of academia, mass media outlets, as well as the members of the diplomatic corps.
