On 8 December 2023, H.E. Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), met with H.E.Muratbek Azymbakiev, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, in Bishkek.

During the meeting, Secretary General Omuraliev provided an update on the latest activities of the Organization and its upcoming events in Kyrgyzstan. He commended the Kyrgyz Republic for its pivotal role in strengthening and enhancing cooperation within the framework of the OTS. Ambassador Omuraliev expressed hope for continued substantial contributions from Kyrgyzstan, furthering comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the Turkic world.

In response, H.E. Muratbek Azymbakiev acknowledged the effective work of the OTS Secretariat and expressed gratitude to Secretary General Omuraliev for his active role in strengthening Turkic cooperation. He assured the Secretary General of Kyrgyzstan’s support for all initiatives aimed at result-oriented and constructive interaction within the OTS framework.

The discussions also revolved around the upcoming Summit scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan in 2024. Both parties committed to collaborative efforts in preparing for the meeting of the Heads of the Turkic States. Special emphasis was placed on the main areas of current undertakings of the Secretariat, particularly in the field of the economy.
