Panel session titled 'Organization of Turkic States: A Unique Cooperation Model' held at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

On 12 April 2025, a high-level panel session titled “Organization of Turkic States: A Unique Cooperation Model” was held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The session brought together senior officials from OTS Member States to explore the Organization’s expanding role in regional integration and global diplomacy.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar, Rector of Cappadocia University, the panel featured H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States; H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the OTS Council of Elders; H.E. Elchin Amirbayov, Ambassador and Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; H.E. Marat Karabayev, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan; H.E. Asein Isaev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic; and H.E. Sadik Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

In his opening remarks, Secretary General Omuraliev emphasized the transformation of the OTS into a robust and well-established international organization, forged by the collective strategic vision of its Member States. He highlighted the Organization’s expansion into over 35 areas of cooperation, reflecting its growing relevance and impact.

The Secretary General elaborated on key initiatives within the OTS framework aimed at institutionalizing cooperation, strengthening political ties, boosting intra-regional trade, enhancing connectivity, addressing regional security and environmental challenges, and deepening people-to-people exchanges.

Panelists stressed the significance of unity and a shared vision in the Turkic World. Discussions covered the adoption of a Common Turkic Alphabet, coordination of foreign policy, the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy, and leveraging regional infrastructure projects to enhance economic resilience and position the Turkic region as a key global logistics hub.
