Secretary General of the Turkic Council moderated the meeting and made a speech where he congratulated the participants on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Independence of five Turkic States.
During the General Assembly, the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University was elected as the new Chair of the Union for the new term. In this context, Prof.Dr. Hikmet Koçak, Rector of Atatürk University holding the Chairmanship of the Union for 3 years handed over the Chairmanship with a ceremony. It was recommended at the meeting that Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Turkish-Kazakh University to assume the Chairmanship for the next term. Within the scope of enlargement of the Union, Bitlis Eren University which applied officially to the Turkic Council was accepted as the new member of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union. The decisions regarding Orkhon process, Student Council activities and other issues taken at the Experts Meeting held yesterday, were approved by the General Assembly. Furthermore, the importance of developing cooperation between the Union and the Turkic Academy was again emphasized.
Headed by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, the coordination of the meeting was carried out by Project Directors Yıldız Uzakova, Pelin Musabay Baki, Zamin Aliyev, Assan Mazhitov and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul.
