The 2nd Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) was organized on11-13 March 2022 in Antalya, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Addressing the Forum, President Erdoğan stated the necessity to establish a new global security architecture, which will protect peace as opposed to the status quo, to serve the entire humanity instead of the interests of 5 countries. President Erdoğan further underlined that hopefully moderation and common sense will prevail and the weapons will fall silent as soon as possible.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu noted that the Forum will address the challenges of the next years and underlined the importance of preventive diplomacy to resolve emerging tensions, manage change, facilitate adaptation, promote cooperation as well as put diplomacy at the service of peace and development.
The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Baghdad Amreyev participated in the Forum which was held under the theme of “Recording Diplomacy” and gathered more than 2000 guests comprising Heads of State and Governments, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and high-level representatives of the International Organizations.
The Forum provided fruitful communications on global and regional issues among the representatives of politics, science, media and business.
In the context of the Forum, more than 20 panels were held in which leaders, diplomats, academicians and other stakeholders from different countries conducted debates of global importance including Democratic Governance, Leadership and Diplomacy, Energy Security, Fighting Racism and Discrimination, Irregular Migration, Revisiting Security in Europe, Climate Change & Energy Transition, Green Economy and Empowering Women and so on.
During the panels, the participants further discussed wide range of topics in international relations and underlined the importance of diplomacy as well as its changing dynamics in international affairs.
Within the scope of the Forum, Secretary General Amreyev held bilateral meetings with the Presidents, Ministers, Heads of the International Organizations and with a number of the Forum’s key high level participants.
During the meetings, Secretary General and his counterparts discussed the issues high on the regional and global agenda.
