Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov held a bilateral meeting with the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser in New York.
Within the framework of his official visit to New York on the occasion of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov held a bilateral meeting with the High Representative for the UNAOC, Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, on 25 September 2017.
During the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov expressed his appreciation to the High Representative for the solid cooperation between the two organizations and their support to the activities of the Turkic Council, based on the MoU signed signed between the two organizations in 2016.
Parties expressed their commitment for the continuation of the ongoing close cooperation between the two institutions with other tangible joint projects. As such; both sides agreed to cooperate for the establishment of the online academy in cooperation with the Turkic Council and UNDP in the fight against violent extremism, as well as for undertaking joint youth activities based on UNAOC`s Youth Solidarity Fund and Young Peacebuilders initiatives.
At the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov invited the High Representative to the Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo) which will be organized by the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and will be hosted by the Republic of Turkey on 27-30 November 2017 in Antalya.
Turkic Council Project Directors Ali Çiviler, Pelin Musabay Baki and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied Secretary General Hasanov during this meeting.
