The handover ceremony for the Chairmanship of the Turkic University Union (TURKUNIB) was held on 22 January 2025 in Tashkent. The event was attended by Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Mr. Bobur Rakhimov, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as heads and representatives of the member-universities of TURKUNIB. 

During the ceremony, participants emphasized the significance of strengthening academic and educational collaboration among Turkic universities. Particular focus was placed on enhancing student and faculty exchanges across the region within TURKUNIB and the Orkhun Exchange Program. 

The Parties also commended the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) for its successful leadership during its term as Chair University-in-Office. 

During the event, Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS and Mr. Iskandar Yuldashev, Director of Tashkent International University signed the Road Map on the activities to be carried out within the Chairmanship of the Tashkent International University in TURKUNIB. 

The event concluded with a symbolic handover ceremony, during which Professor Adalat Muradov, Rector of UNEC officially transferred the Chairmanship for 2025-2026 by handing over a symbolic key to Mr. Iskandar Yuldashev, Director of the Tashkent International University.
