Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Yerzhan Mukash participated in the international conference on "Heydar Aliyev and the Modern Turkic World" organized by the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan in Baku on 2 May 2023.
At the conference, which was held with the participation of nearly a hundred participants from the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States, the significance of Heydar Aliyev, the founding President and national leader of Azerbaijan, for the Turkic world was discussed.
Deputy Secretary General Yerzhan Mukash delivered the opening speech at the conference, that was held on the occasion of the Year of Heydar Aliyev, declared on the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth, with the participation of members of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States. In his speech, Deputy Secretary General Yerzhan Mukash highlighted the progress in the Turkic world over the past 30 years, the strengthening of multilateral cooperation among the brotherly Turkic States under the umbrella of the OTS and the important steps taken by Heydar Aliyev to establish the comprehensive cooperation that the Turkic States enjoy today.
Deputy Secretary General Mukash also provided information on the upcoming activities of the Council of Elders of the Turkic States, whose structure was strengthened at the Istanbul Summit of OTS in 2021.
