The First Meeting for the Establishment of Joint Educational TV Channel with the participation of Managers of National Channels of the Turkic Council member States was held on 17 February 2014 in Istanbul at the premises of the Secretariat of the Turkic Council.
At the meeting the issues of the establishment of the Joint Educational TV Channel and using of existing facilities until the establishment of the Joint Educational TV Channel were discussed.
Considering the attractiveness of cartoons for young children, it was agreed to prepare and broadcast cartoons about Turkic history with Turkic heroes on current educational TV channels in member states. Attention was also paid to the necessity of preparation and broadcasting of the educational TV programs on current National TV Channels in Turkic Council Member states. In the future this might create an invaluable asset to the content of the Joint Educational TV Channel that might be established.
