The Secretariat of the Turkic Council took part in the International scientific and practical conference entitled  “Alisher Navoi in the context of World orientalists”
On February 5, 2021, at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies began two-day International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Alisher Navoi in the Context of World orientalists”, which is dedicated to the 580th anniversary of the birth of the Great Turkic poet and thinker Alisher Navoi.
Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov took part in the conference. In his speech he noted that such events will create an opportunity to promote the role of outstanding personalities of the Turkic figures in the World civilization.
M.Azimov concluded that today's event, which is devoted to the study of life and work of the great figure, will serve to popularize the spiritual wealth and centuries-old history of the Turkic world for the future generation.
During the Conference, participants mentioned that multifaceted activities of Alisher Navoi affected not only the culture and literature, but also the politics, public administration, scientific and educational spheres.
Following the event, it was emphasized that the holding of this conference made it possible to identify urgent tasks to determine the ratio of the literary heritage of Alisher Navoi in the unification and development of the Turkic civilization and its enlightenment.
In over two days 130 speakers from 15 countries, representing 60 universities and organizations from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Hungary, Tajikistan, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran and Afghanistan taking part in the event.
