Within the framework of the COP29 a High-level Roundtable “From Global Goals to Local Action: Regional initiatives to strengthen agrifood systems” was held.  

During his speech the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Mr. Sadi Jafarov informed the participants about the ongoing cooperation among the Member States of the OTS in the field of agriculture, as well as stressed the importance of cooperation with international organizations in this field.

During the event the Joint Declaration on Establishment of the OTS Forum of Climate Resilient Villages was signed.

The Forum builds on the Garabagh Declaration from the Informal OTS Summit of July 2024. This initiative, co-organized by the COP29 Presidency, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and OTS, aims to promote climate-resilient and sustainable rural development, enhance regional resilience, and facilitate cooperation among the OTS Member States.
