Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mukhtar Tleuberdi on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum on 18 June 2021.
Secretary General briefed Foreign Minister about core issues that are on the current agenda of the Turkic Council related to the future of the Organization, as well as on the ongoing processes in sectoral cooperation areas.
Foreign Minister highlighted the increasing dynamism of the cooperation among Turkic Council Member States.
Parties discussed the decisions of the last Turkistan Summit of the Turkic Council held on 31 March 2021, and stated that it provided an additional strength to direct contacts between the leaders.
They discussed the establishment of a special economic zone in Turkistan that was proposed by the President of Kazakhstan H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and believed that this initiative will further contribute to increasing the trade and investment cooperation among Member States.
Parties also exchanged views on the forthcoming high-level meetings of the Turkic Council.
