Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov, on 9 April 2021 in Baku.
Secretary General and Minister exchanged views on the outcomes of recent online Turkestan summit that was held by the initiative of Kazakhstan. They stated that the summit was a great opportunity for the leaders of the Turkic world who came together for the first time since the Karabakh war to discuss the current state of cooperation in the framework of Turkic Council, exchange views on the situation in the Turkic World and beyond, as well as number of important topics of regional and international cooperation.
J.Bayramov and B.Amreyev also noted that the summit was an important preparation stage the regular Summit of the Turkic Council to be held in Istanbul in the fall of this year, where the Heads of Turkic States are expected to take important decisions on the future strategies of the Turkic Council.
Minister appreciated the efforts of the Turkic Council in organizing the Turkestan summit and in the preparation for the regular Summit in Istanbul and expressed full support of Azerbaijan to all activities of the Organization and its undertakings aimed with a strengthening the unity of the Turkic World.
Parties highlighted the importance of the meeting of Ministers and High Officials of the Turkic Council Member States in charge of information and the media to be held today in Baku which testifies the further promoting of common interests in this important fields as well.
Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Turkic Council for organizing a special business forum in Baku at the end of April which aimed at engaging the business communities of the Member States in reconstruction process in the liberated territories in Karabakh.
