The Delegation of the Mission of the OTS led by Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS met with Ms. Nurzhan Shaildabekova, Chairman of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic on 15 November 2024 in Bishkek, to discuss the upcoming elections of Deputies of Local Councils of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

Deputy Secretary General gave a brief information on the OTS International Mission carried out in Kyrgyzstan. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan’s electoral reforms set a positive example for the region.

Chairman of the Election Commission gave detailed information on the legal background and the preparations for the election process, as well as highlighted the innovative measures being implemented such as biometric identification technology to prevent fraud.

Furthermore, within the framework of its Mission, OTS delegation held constructive meetings with the leadership of several political parties.
